THE AVENGERS (May 4, 2012)

The Avengers is an upcoming American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures¹, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which crosses over several Marvel superhero films including Iron Man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011) and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast, which includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson. In The Avengers, Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., recruits Iron Man,Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to save the world from destruction.

THE PROMETHEUS (June 8, 2012)

Prometheus is an upcoming science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof. The film stars Noomi Rapace,Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron. Originally conceived as a prequel to Scott's 1979 science fiction horror film Alien, script rewrites developed the film into a separate story unconnected to the films of the Alien franchise. According to Scott, though the film shares "strands of Alien's DNA, so to speak", Prometheus will explore its own mythology and universe and is not directly linked to Alien. Filming began in March 2011, and Prometheus is scheduled for release in the USA on June 8, 2012 through 20th Century Fox.


THE HOBBIT

The Hobbit is an upcoming two-part epic fantasy film directed by Peter Jackson. It is a film adaptation of the 1937 novel of the same name by J. R. R. Tolkien and a prequel to The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Jackson, director of The Lord of the Rings, returns as director of the film and also serves asproducer and co-writer.

The film will star Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield and Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug. Several actors from Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy will reprise their roles, including Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee, Ian Holm, Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom. Also returning for the production are a big part of the production crew; among others, illustrators John Howe and Alan Lee, art director Dan Hennah and cinematographer Andrew Lesnie. As with the trilogy, props will generally be crafted by Weta Workshopand visual effects managed by Weta Digital. Additionally, composer Howard Shore, who wrote the score for The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, has confirmed his role in both parts of the film project.

The two parts, titled The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again, are being filmed back to back and are in production in New Zealand; principal photography began on 21 March 2011. They are scheduled to be released on 14 December 2012 and 13 December 2013, respectively.

GHOST RIDER : SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE (February 17, 2012)

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is an upcoming 3D superhero film based on the Marvel Comics antihero Ghost Rider, scheduled to be released in theaters on February 17, 2012. The film is a sequel to the 2007 film Ghost Rider, though Nicolas Cage, who stars in the film, denies that claim. It will be directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. Cage will reprise his role as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider. It is the second film to be released under the Marvel Knights banner after 2008's Punisher: War Zone.


SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN (June 1, 2012)

Snow White & the Huntsman is an upcoming fantasy adventure film directed by Rupert Sanders and written by Evan Daugherty. The film is currently in production and is slated for release on June 1, 2012 in the United States.


In a kingdom ruled by tyranny, the queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron) learns that her stepdaughter, Snow White (Kristen Stewart), will surpass her as ruler of her kingdom and become the Fairest in the land. However, she is told by the Magic Mirror (Christopher Obi) that if she, Ravenna, consumes Snow White's heart then she will live forever, but Snow White is able to escape into the Dark Forest. To capture her the Queen recruits a Huntsman, Eric (Chris Hemsworth), to retrieve Snow White. However, the Huntsman takes pity on the girl and instead of killing her brings her under his wing and with his help Snow White begins to learn the art of war. She starts a rebellion to bring down Ravenna with the aid of eight dwarves and Prince William (Sam Claflin), who has been in love with Snow White for many years.


THE EXPENDABLES 2

The Expendables 2 is an upcoming ensemble action film directed by Simon West, written by Sylvester Stallone and based on characters created byDavid Callaham. It is a sequel to the 2010 action film The Expendables, and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The film is due to be released on August 17, 2012, by Lions Gate Entertainment.


BATMAN : THE DARK KNIGHT RISEES (July 20, 2012)

The Dark Knight Rises is an upcoming superhero film directed by Christopher Nolan and written by Nolan and his brother Jonathan Nolan. Based on theDC Comics character Batman, the film will be the third installment in Nolan's Batman film series, and is a sequel to Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008). It stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth, James Gordon, and Lucius Fox, respectively. The film will take place eight years after the events of The Dark Knight and will introduce the characters of Selina Kyle andBane—portrayed by Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy respectively—two villains from the Batman mythology.

Nolan was initially hesitant about returning to the series for a third time, but agreed to come back after developing a story with his brother and David S. Goyer that he felt would conclude the series on a satisfactory note. Filming has taken place across the world, including locations in India, London,Glasgow, Los Angeles, New York, Newark, and Pittsburgh. Nolan is utilizing IMAX cameras for more of the filming to optimize the quality of the picture. As with The Dark Knight, viral marketing campaigns began early during production to help promote the upcoming film. The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled for release in the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada on July 20, 2012, by Warner Bros.
